ATHLETICS
Adult members of the swim club have the opportunity to participate in a number of competitive sports during the summer. In 2010 the club plans to enter teams in five leagues where they will compete against other area swim clubs and teams.
The club expects to field teams in:
Co-Ed Volleyball
Basketball (Men's)
Softball (Women's)
Pinochle
(see below)

The Co-Ed Volleyball team is open to members who have graduated from middle school. (Most are adults.)
The league typically consists of matches against other area clubs. The season is the second Monday in June to the second Monday in August with the league championship tournament the following Sunday. Since there aren’t enough Mondays in the season to play all the matches we need to play, we also play on some Thursdays.
League play ranges from USVBA ''B' to 'BB.' The matches consist of three games, with each game counting towards the team's overall record.
There are also two tournaments (one at mid-season and one at season end) that follow a round robin format to determine seeding for a single elimination tournament. Also during the season, there is a doubles tournament where pairs of players from clubs compete for bragging rights. All tournaments are played on Sunday mornings.
Last year Woodcrest was the only club with two team in the league and both made the playoffs. If we have enough players we will enter a third team
The championship tournament may be either round robin among all qualifying teams or, if more are scheduled, round robins in two brackets with the top two teams in the brackets making the semis.
Women's Softball
The WRA Women's Softball team is open to
female adult members of the swim club. The team plays in a league consisting of
other area swim clubs. Pitch is modified fast pitch (no windmill).
Games
are typically held on one or two nights during the late spring and summer.
Men's Basketball
The WRA Men's Basketball team is open to all adult men over 30 years of age to participate on the WRA basketball team. Play begins in mid-June. It is a weekly league with games played on Sunday mornings only. Games are played home and away.
There are six swim clubs involved in the immediate area. Players must be 30 years and older with two exception. Each team can have up to two players under 30 but 25 years plus.
All 6 teams after the regular season qualify for a single elimination tournament.
Pinochle
We annually schedule a club tournament. We also schedule a tournament against other swim clubs if sufficient interest is expressed by the other clubs.
